So camp rolls around in about 10 weeks and it is time to prepare. Up until now the prep has been mediocre at best. Tomorrow I get the injury report from the doctor and I can have the team redesign my training and food plan. In the meantime I am working on keeping the diet good and to eliminate the roller coaster I've been on since my injuries became worse. Yesterday I wrote out and signed a commitment to myself so that whenever I feel like giving up I can remind myself that endurance is the only path to successfully reaching my goal. The note has already come in handy

Fantasy Camp Prep Journal
So, camp is 9 weeks out, and I am back on track. Bulging discs and carpal tunnel will not deter me from having the body I want.
The new training program is going good so far. I have a leg and push day under my belt so far for the week, and tonight is a plyo night.
Now that I have a treadmill in my home I have two days of morning cardio done as well. I look forward to making the morning cardio session a permanent habit.
Eight weeks and counting.
This past week was a little rough. Lots of distractions and bad eating habits. At least I got a good workout or two in. Last night was back to back parties and surprisingly no weight gain this morning as a result of last nights debauchery.
Despite the lack of sleep I feel refreshed this morning. I had an awesome time with my friends last night and no guilt about the having a good time. This morning the diet is perfect and I look forward to a workout later in the afternoon. I am going to take advantage of a quiet work day and plan out the next eight weeks. Training, diet, sleep, and all other activities will go on a schedule. Nothing like a plan to help you reach a goal. I want to be at least 10 pounds lighter by the time I get on the plane to fantasy camp.
Less than 8 weeks to go. The scale is finally back down to a manageable level, 120.5 lbs. I want to be close to if not 110 lbs by the time FC rolls around. There is a lot of work to do between now & then. The weekend was good food wise but no training got done which really is not good. To make up for it, tonight will be a core & leg night. If there is time, then a cardio session will get worked in somewhere as well.
Now it's time to get back to work, yuck.
Out with the old and ready for the new. Last year didn't yield the results I wanted so here we go to try again. Injuries have kept me from training and a well needed break from the diet took place over the holidays. Despite it all I have managed to clean up the diet within the last week and the scale is back down to 121.4 lbs. Not bad considering I haven't train in close to a month.
Tomorrow I shuttle off to camp
which will mark a new beginning for me. I cannot wait!!!
why no training? What happened?
Had some issues with the shoulder and leg. MRI showed bulging discs in the neck and back.
Thankfully, I got three awesome training sessions in at camp. Friday was an arm workout which helped to pinpoint the movements I can and cannot do. Unfortunately the functional core workout later aggravated the shoulder. The good thing was that on Saturday one of the chiropractors in the group doctored me up and not only did I feel better but I came home, fired my existing doctors, and have referrals for some new ones. Priceless, what I learned about my injuries. Saturday's leg session had me crawling through last night but darn did it feel good :)
Now that I am back from camp I have some work to do. I want to compete by September. I will have to concentrate on diet more than usual until I am fully healed but at least now know that I can train. I simply need longer rest periods between training sessions.
