Inspiring!

We've got humor...

Let's include a thread about inspiration!

This from a client of mine:

Hey!  I have three things to thank you for today, I forgot to say the other day when we were saying the good things that have been happening to us, well kind of embarassing but I can finally bend over and tie my shoes or put my foot on my knee without struggling and hurting just to tie them, also I ran up a BIG extremely straight up flight of stairs and didn't even think about it, didn't get out of breath and it was a breeze :) and one more thing.... When I picked Amey up from her 2nd day of first grade I asked her about her day and along with all the other neat stuff she also told me about how she chose to have a salad today at lunch "because it was a healthier choice than the other stuff"

Here's inspiring for you:  three of my kids came to one of our functional training classes last week and they all can't wait to come back.

My 7-year-old daughter even called Kori to tell her how sore her abs were but she's asked every day since, "How many days until class again?"

My 11-year-old baseball stud son told my 16-year-old son how great of a workout it was compared to traditional training.

My 14-year-old daughter, newly interested in working out for both sports.....and now that she's a freshman with about 1,200 boys around her (go figure) was really giving it some great effort.

Kids excited about being active and working out - that's inspiring.  Way to go Sean and Kori!

Already excited for Fantasy Camp in January!

From a client & friend:

This time last year I was looking into weight loss programs and surgeries. One year ago I weighed 385 pounds and I know I was over 400 pound within the months prior. I was eating 3200 to 3500 calories a day, 7 days a week. I thought I was happy. One year ago I made a life changing decision. One year ago, I found “The Diet Doc” and met you.

I remember the first phone call and the positive energy I could feel in your voice. I still remember setting the first meeting and I do believe I canceled it because of “business”, but I think you realized I was just blowing smoke. I ended up rescheduling for later in the same week or maybe the next week, but either way I finally made the decision to change my life and why not today. I remember walking into the office and meeting this little (105 pounds maybe) firecracker of a person. You sat me down and we talked about everything from my family and kids to work. It became very clear to me that you actually cared about your clients and that you actually wanted to help me meet my goals. I signed up that day and changed my life forever!

I had never “dieted” in my life. Dieting was something my mother did and stopped and put all the weigh back on plus some. Heck, I was already fat and didn’t need to add weight for the heck of it. So, I never dieted. Even in the last year I never truly “dieted”, I changed my life and my body followed. I have to say I started this program with a 100 pound goal in mind. I had decided that I was going to lose weight or die trying. I had several reasons for doing so and the two biggest reasons where to feel better and live longer. You and I talked about all of this the first two meeting and you help set those goals in stone for me. I can still remember you telling me that “you will meet your goal plus some” and guess what? It is August 13, 2010 and I have lost 110 pound and I still have 9 days until my one year mark.

I can’t say it was easy, as nothing worth doing is going to be easy. This program and the people with it helped me see that eating doesn’t have to kill you. I still look at food and ask, “Is this going to help my body or kill my body?” and I have made a few bone head choices along the way. Who hasn’t? But, as long as you don’t go over board, than it isn’t a big deal. Enjoy it and remember not to do that again. It is all about the “three legged stool”. Program (The Diet Doc), support (family and friend), and the biggest in my opinion, will power. If you can’t be true to yourself, then how is this ever going to work? I was very luck to find a great program and I had the total support of my family and friends. The will power is something I was blessed with and it helped me though many meals that could have totally derailed my goal, but I was able to eat a little of this and a little of that and stay on track.

The bottom line here is this; I want to thank you for all the support, advice, and understanding you brought to the table that first day! August 22, 2009 was the first day of my new life and you where there kicking me in the butt, telling me I would make it if I just followed some simple advice. I owe you more than you will ever know and I can’t thank you enough. Thank you. You are one of the three people in my life that I can honestly say have changed my life for the better. Those people are my father, my grandfather and yourself.

February 02, 2009          400+ pounds

August 22, 2009            384.6 pounds

August 13, 2010            275.4 pounds and still going

I have lost a “Kori”!!!!!!

My new goal is to hit 250 pound by December 22, 2010 (my birthday). You know, I plan on being closer to 245 by then.

I plan on stopping in with in the next week to thank you in person and give you big hug!

As you would say, “Rock on!”

Thank you from the bottom of my healthier heart,

Focus forward...
