Leg Training

7/16/10

havent hit a leg workout in about 3 weeks due to a pretty ridiculous schedule...and I haven't actually squatted in even longer probably...I know, pretty sad.

Anyway...this is what went down today (warm up sets omitted), and more or less weights and reps just outlined since it really wasnt all that impressive since I have been out of it for a while.

Squat:

2 working sets at 10 reps

3 working sets at 5 reps each...these were tough even though it was only 315 lbs

Icarian Power Squat SS w/ SLDL

(forgot my wraps, so just grabbed a moderate weight and did some slow reps to really feel it)

3 working sets at 10 reps SS SLDL at 10 reps

3 working sets at 5 reps (7 plates each side) SS SLDL at 5 reps

Seated Leg Curls SS w/ Leg Extensions

2 working sets at 10 reps both exercises

2 working sets at 6-8 reps both exercises

It was nice to get back under the squat bar...hopefully I will get some of my strength back pretty quickly.

staying positive and working hard

Wow Jordan, give you haven't squatted in some time, that looks like a pretty good workout to me.  I bet you're feeling it today.  Only 315 lbs?!  :O

haha, thanks Annette, it sure felt heavy.  I am feeling ok today, a little soreness but nothing legendary.

Talked with a strong man buddy of mine today who has his own functional training facility and if he has time I may go down there tomorrow and flip a tire or too...lets hope the leg soreness doesnt get too over baring or I may be out for that!

8/6/10

Havent had a good serious leg workout in a while...after this past weekend I have decided that its time to kick things back into high gear, and get back to some of the training that I love the most!

Greg did pretty much the same stuff, just add another plate per side on all of the squatting!!

Started off today with the Power Squat Machine SS with SLDL (warm ups omitted)

5 plates/side x 10 ss 135 x 10

6 x 8 ss 185 x 10

7 x 7 ss 185 x 8

8 x 5 drop 7 x 5 drop 6 x 4 drop 5 x 5 ss 135 x 10

6 x 5 ss 135 x 10 ss 95lb BB lunges x 10/side

6 x 5 ss 135 x 10 ss 145lbs BB lunges x 5/side

Contiuned with just the lunges and worked in some seated leg curls

165lbs x 5/side x 180 x 10

185lbs x 5/side x 200 x 10

Seated Leg Curls SS w/ Leg Extensions

220 x 8 ss 180 x 10

220 x 6 ss 200 x 10

220 x 6 ss 200 x 10

Done and done!  I cant get comfortable...my legs are aching already.

:)
