Recovery

I had a client send me an email recently asking specifically about recovery and after I sent the reply, I thought it would be a great topic for the forum.

How much recovery do you guys give yourselves between workouts? What are your current training splits?

Having tried "a lot" (to say the least) of different training protocols over the years I've found that I really have to go by how my body is feeling at the time.  Obviously this usually depends on how I trained the given bodypart (strength/volume/functional...etc).  I typically find my legs need at least 6 to 8 days recovery (8 now that I'm seven weeks out & starving!), back and chest usually 4 to 6 days.
